James Firn

Chairman and Non-Executive Director

James Firn is an independent director of JOHCML. He has 40 years of experience in the industry. James, who is both a U.S. and British citizen, is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the U.S. Bar Association, and the International Bar Association. He began his career as an employee of Russell Investments in 1988 and worked there until his retirement in June 2014. During this time, James managed different departments within the EMEA team, including legal, compliance, risk management, internal audit, product development and marketing. He also liaised with government, regulatory and industry groups in EMEA and advised senior management in other regions where Russell operates on commercial, product and legal matters. He was also an associate attorney at a U.S. law firm. Currently, James is an independent non-executive director of a number of fund management, administration and distribution companies, as well as Central Bank and Cayman Islands licensed collective investment undertakings.
